03.10.10 Trip to Lubbock Lake Landmark

Last Wednesday the class took a trip out to Lubbock Lake Landmark. One may think that there isn't much to be learned about the "plains eco-system" but it was actually a very interesting experience. The most fascinating aspect of the trip was the fact that I could more easily visualize how the land has changed over the years.
I also gained an appreciation for the work that went into the renovation out at LLL. Countless hours have been spent removing mesquites, cochia, thistle, etc. The walk-way that was installed is a daunting sight once you learn what went into its construction. All in all, it was a very enlightening experience and I would definitely encourage potential visitors to check it out.
